Joe's on Broadway sits in the middle of Times Square, which makes it one of the busiest slice counters in the city and possibly the country. The recipe came from the Greenwich Village shop Joe Pozzuoli opened in 1975 and has not been tampered with: thin, foldable New York cheese slices, reheated to order, out the door in under a minute. Pepperoni and a handful of specialty pies round out a menu that stays deliberately short. Theatregoers, commuters and tourists all queue together. Fast, cheap, and exactly what it claims to be.
