LA GIRALDILLA HANLEY – Restaurant

A Cuban kitchen and bar on Hanley Road that runs well past dinner — midnight most nights, three in the morning at weekends, when the room shifts gear into Latin music and a DJ. The kitchen's calling card is Cuban pizza, ordered personal-size and arriving closer to family-size. Beyond that: a criollo seafood combo of lobster tail, shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams, calamari and fish in criollo sauce, paella, and empanadas that regulars order by the pile. Diners talk about the portions first and the prices second. Generous to a fault, and open when nowhere else is.
