A big, busy Cuban room on West 12th Avenue in Hialeah, La Juliana runs from late morning until eleven every night and rarely feels quiet. Pizza is the calling card — the three-cheese especially — but the kitchen ranges well past it: tostones stuffed with shrimp or mixed seafood, cheese balls, fish fillets, salads served in a hollowed pineapple. Natural juices in melon, pineapple and guava arrive properly cold. Diners talk about the service and the easy, music-filled atmosphere as much as the plates, and families take over the tables for birthdays. Loud, generous, dependable.
