Twenty-five years after the family arrived in DeLand from Estado de Mexico, Los Dos Compadres runs a busy Mexican kitchen on East International Speedway Boulevard built on their grandmother's recipes, following a first restaurant opened in DeLeon Springs eighteen years ago. Flour and corn tortillas are pressed in house, which tells in the enmoladas and the fajitas. Start with choriqueso, melted Jack loaded with Mexican chorizo under grilled peppers and onions. Quesabirrias, burrito bowls, quesadillas and taco salads fill out a long menu. A family operation, and it reads that way.
