You order down a cafeteria line at Mango's, and the queue moves faster than it looks. Haitian heritage runs straight through the cooking - oxtail and other Caribbean plates midweek, then a Southern swing at the weekend with fried catfish, smothered turkey wings, Creole shrimp and grits and macaroni and cheese. Mango Island Passion Punch is the drink to ask for. Vegan options, seats outside, no reservations, closed Mondays. It began as a catering outfit; the dining room came later and never left. Comfort food with real intent behind it.
