MORRO CASTLE – Restaurant

A Hialeah fixture on West 44th Place, Morro Castle serves the Cuban plate lunch in its purest form: bistec de palomilla with papas fritas or tostones, breaded bistec empanizado, masitas de puerco, tamal en hoja, a proper pan con bistec. Everything lands with rice, salad and sweet plantains, and the bill stays remarkably low. Finish with churros and hot chocolate. The dining room is spotless, the owner tends to greet you himself, and the cafe con leche gets mentioned as often as the food. Open early, open late. Neighbourhood cooking, no theatre.
