On Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach, Mr. Puff's makes its ice cream in front of you — liquid base poured onto a frozen plate, chopped, spread and scraped into tight rolls to order. Java Time layers coffee base with almonds and brownie; Bay County Road Way is chocolate with marshmallows and pecans; Banana Pudding comes with Nilla wafers folded through. Toppings run to fifty-odd, from Sour Patch Kids to fresh mango. Hand-spun milkshakes, floats and banana splits round it out. Beach-town dessert, made on the spot.
