NEW CHINA – Restaurant
On Tamiami Trail just north of Venice, New China is the family-run Chinese counter this stretch of Sarasota County leans on. The fried rice gets singled out constantly, along with house special chow mein, Mongolian beef, moo shu pork, sesame chicken and a properly made egg drop soup. Portions land on the generous side of fair. Service is quick and unfailingly pleasant, often with the owners' children doing homework at a back table. There is seating, but most of the trade goes out in bags. Closed Mondays, open late into the evening otherwise.
