Between Nokomis and Venice on the Trail, New China Restaurant keeps a short, familiar Chinese-American menu and executes it properly. Orange chicken dinner combinations, Mongolian beef, moo shu pork, wonton and egg drop soups, and fried rice that regulars rate above anything else nearby. The ingredients taste fresh, the portions are large, and the family behind the counter move quickly without rushing anyone. There is seating, but most of the business goes out in bags. Closed Mondays, open late enough the rest of the week to catch a post-beach dinner.
