Nueva Cantina brings a modern taqueria to Tampa: tacos ordered by the piece, pitchers of margarita, and a soft-serve marg for anyone who wants dessert in a glass. The trompo turns out adobo-marinated al pastor; there is slow-roasted carnitas, chili-rubbed asada, chorizo with queso fresco, and a birria taco that arrives with its own consomé. Bigger appetites go for the Bowlrito or one of the crunchy Mexican pizzas. Two tacos for seven dollars during the weekday happy hour is what keeps the bar full.
