OLYMPIA CAFE – Restaurant

Two decades on the Mayport Road corridor at Jacksonville's beaches, Olympia Cafe built its name on one dish and then quietly got good at everything else. The gyro is the headliner — carved meat, tzatziki, soft pita — but the counter also turns out pizza by the slice, calzones and stromboli, wing baskets, spinach pie and a Greek salad loaded with feta and olives. The giant Philly cheesesteak has a following of its own. Baklava to finish. Families have been coming since 2003 and say neither the cooking nor the welcome has slipped.
