שאולי אקספרס – Restaurant

Shauli Express runs on David Shimoni Street in Hadera from nine in the morning until three the next, and later still on Thursdays, which explains a good deal of its following. The order is simple: veal or turkey carved off the spit into pita or laffa, or piled onto a platter with fresh chips and a spread of salads. Portions lean heavy on the meat. Regulars rate it for speed and for being genuinely open when nothing else is, and the room is casual enough for families mid-afternoon and for whoever turns up at one in the morning. Late-night shawarma, done properly.
