SOUTH MIAMI CAFÉ – Restaurant

A South Miami counter on SW 62nd Avenue that opens at seven and covers the whole day without ever pretending to be more than it is. Breakfast runs to combination platters and omelets built to order; lunch swings wide, from the turkey and bacon club and the signature steak and chicken breast sandwiches to pizza, grilled salmon, shrimp Creole and a decent bench of salads. Weekdays until six, half a day Saturday. The room is small, bright and quick, the kind of place where the office crowd and the neighborhood overlap at the same tables. Regulars come for the range and the pace rather than any single dish.
