Southern Grounds pours direct-trade Intelligentsia coffee and runs a full kitchen from breakfast through dinner, with wine on the list by evening. Order at the counter, take a seat, and the food finds you - no shouted names. The Jacksonville locations - San Marco, Avondale, Brooklyn, Jax Beach - each have their own room and their own regulars, and the brunch crowds are serious. Diners come for the coffee program and stay because the food holds up next to it.
