Tipsy Shanghai 蘇杭餐厅 – chinese_restaurant

Shanghainese cooking done with care and without ceremony. Tipsy Shanghai builds its menu around xiaolongbao - steamed pork, crab, and a fried version - plus Wuxi pork ribs, drunken chicken in Shaoxing wine, marinated bran dough with peanuts and black fungus, dry-fried green beans with minced pork, braised beef noodle soup and Ao Zao noodles. The rooms are small and the decor is calm, traditional music included, which makes for an unexpectedly restful hour off a loud Manhattan street. Diners come back for the dumplings above all else. Delicate desserts close it properly.
