WHEAT+WATER ITALIAN KITCHEN – Restaurant

A strip-mall dining room on 52nd Place East that people keep describing as a find. Wheat + Water cooks Italian-American with real care: eggplant parmigiana, lasagna bolognese, six-hour short ribs, sacchetti in vodka sauce, lobster ravioli, veal scallopini, chicken caprino, marsala and piccata, fried calamari to start and a cauliflower crust for the pizza crowd. The bread gets mentioned in nearly every review, and so does the tiramisu. Owners Kim and Mike work the floor. Dinner only, closed Mondays, and worth the drive out past the chains.
