Wright's Gourmet House has been feeding South Dale Mabry from behind a deli counter for decades, and the lunch queue tells you the formula still works. The sandwiches are the draw: the Beef Martini, hot pastrami, turkey Reuben, turkey club, roast beef, the Cuban, a veggie build — all cut to a size that guarantees leftovers. Then the cakes, which are half the reason people come at all: hummingbird, red velvet, coconut, chocolate, rum. Customers drive across the county for both, and say the staff manage to treat everyone like a regular even at full tilt. Closed Sundays, shut by mid-afternoon. Plan accordingly.
