YAMI KOREAN JAPANSES GRILL – Restaurant

Yami runs Korean barbecue and a sushi bar out of the same kitchen on North Congress Avenue, and does both seriously. Grill orders center on marinated bulgogi, ribeye and boneless short rib; the rest of the menu covers soon tofu jjigae, dolsot bibimbap, dukbokki and beef fried rice, with a spread of banchan that arrives before you've decided anything. From the sushi side, the rock shrimp tuna roll gets ordered most. Diners consistently single out the depth of flavor and how attentive the staff are, and it reads as a date-night room as easily as a family one.
