יאסו סלוניקי gia sou thesaloniki – greek_restaurant

A Greek taverna in Florentin that opens for breakfast and slides into ouzo and bouzouki by evening. The heart of it is the mezze table - ikra, matias, sardines, tzatziki, vine leaves, grilled aubergine, kalamata olives, smoked tuna - followed by hot plates like borekitas, spinach patties, fried halloumi and kashkaval. Then whole fish: barbounia, bouri, sea bass, sea bream. There are home-style stews too, okra and beans and stuffed peppers, and malabi to finish. The arak and ouzo list is longer than the dessert menu. Thessaloniki, transplanted.
