Aladár Cafe & Deli – coffee_shop

A corner shop in Budapest's Virányos, District XII, became something better in autumn 2023: part café, part delicatessen, part neighbourhood living room. Bread and pastries come from Nor/ma, sandwiches are built to order at the counter, and the coffee is specialty roasted by Awaken and Herz, pulled on a La Marzocco. The deli cases hold Hungarian cheeses and yogurts alongside Italian and French cheeses, cold cuts, olives and fine chocolates. Warm breakfasts and egg dishes arrive in the morning; by evening it turns into a wine bar, prosecco on tap. Schoolchildren, families and quiet meetings share the room. Genuinely local.
