Bagel Nosh – Restaurant

A kosher counter on Clifton Avenue in Lakewood that opens at seven and is done by five, closing at one on Friday and staying shut Saturday. Bagels are hand-rolled in plain, onion and garlic, sold singly or by the dozen and schmeared with butter or cream cheese, or built into something fuller with tuna salad or smoked salmon spread. Off the griddle come scrambled eggs on a buttered bagel. The pizza bagel is a long-running fixture. The kitchen stretches past bagels into baked ziti and macaroni and cheese, and the case holds donuts by the piece or by the dozen.
