Palma Ceia's corner of South MacDill Avenue keeps a Florida institution: a family sports pub of the kind Beef 'O' Brady's has run since 1985, televisions on, nobody hurried. Wings come in a long roster of sauces. Around them sit premium-blend Angus burgers, hand-breaded Buffalo chicken on brioche with pickles and ranch, a Reuben of corned beef, Swiss and sauerkraut on grilled rye, plus tacos, quesadillas, artisan-style pizzas and fork-and-knife entrees. Doors open at eleven every day, an hour later on Friday and Saturday nights. Pickup, delivery and catering all run. It is a neighbourhood table rather than a destination.
