BLEU RENDEZ VOUS FRENCH BISTRO – Restaurant

Dinner only, six nights a week, in a small room on Tarpon Bay Road: this Sanibel bistro plays the French canon straight and reservations are the way in. Escargots come baked in garlic and parsley butter, warm duck foie gras arrives with fig jam and gingerbread, and the onion soup turns up bubbling under its cheese lid. Mains hold the line, boeuf bourguignon, canard a l'orange, hand cut steak tartare with truffle fries, trout amandine, seared scallops in lobster sauce. Creme brulee and profiteroles close the meal. The kitchen shuts for summer and reopens each October, so plan around season.
