Café Miyuko – cafe

A tearoom and cafe in the heritage-listed Haus zur Weltkugel on Bärengasse, steps from Paradeplatz and a world away from it. Sara Hochuli and Dominik Grenzler opened Miyuko in spring 2011 under the name Les Gourmandises de Miyuko, and moved into this half-timbered house in 2022, sharing it with a youth literature lab. The idea is French pâtisserie filtered through a Japanese sensibility: cakes from Hochuli's own manufactory, scones, breakfast, and an afternoon tea service. She makes chocolate too, including a roasted-green-tea milk bar with a local bean-to-bar house. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays; open from nine midweek, ten at weekends.
