Cuban comfort food served from early breakfast through the evening, in plain rooms where the whole lunchtime crowd seems to arrive at once. The Alvarado family took the business on in 2005 and now run five kitchens around Miami. Croquetas, papa rellena, mariquitas de malanga, yuca frita and cod fritters open the meal; tostones rellenos come stuffed with picadillo or shrimp. Breakfast is tostada cubana, scrambled eggs with ham, or a steak topped with two fried eggs. A Peruvian streak surfaces in the jalea mixta seafood platter. Portions run large and prices stay modest. Straightforward, busy, and thoroughly Miami Cuban.
