Casa Benedetto's builds its menu from family recipes: rice balls, braciole, manicotti, pasta fagioli, escarole and beans, linguini under clam sauce made from freshly shucked clams. Desserts come from the original recipes of a Brooklyn bakery the owners' grandparents ran, so tiramisu, cheesecake, cannoli, biscotti and holiday struffoli and ricotta grain pie appear. The kitchen cooks to order and adapts willingly, keeping whole-grain gluten-free pasta and spiralized zucchini on hand. Open midday through evening, closed Sundays. Catering and baked goods by arrangement. Unhurried, generous, genuinely homemade.
