CHIANTI ROOM – Italian
The Chianti Room is the sit-down Italian side of Pizzalley's, tucked between Charlotte Street and the St George Street pedestrian run in St Augustine's old town. Everything comes out of a scratch kitchen: handmade pasta, chicken piccata, shrimp scampi, seafood pescatore, and a white lasagna the kitchen treats as its signature. Pizza still matters, from a straight margherita to the Fig and Pig, and tiramisu closes things out. The room suits a proper dinner after a day of walking the historic district, which is exactly what most tables are doing. Old-city Italian, cooked from scratch, minutes from the old fort.
