COASIS – Restaurant

North Nebraska Avenue after dark, a DJ in the corner and chargrilled oysters landing on the table. Coasis is a Tampa restaurant and bar that pulls Southern cooking and Gulf seafood into the same room: garlic-parmesan oysters crowned with shrimp and lump crab, jerk crab oysters, marinated lamb chops, chimichurri strip steak, Cajun shrimp and grits, southern fried catfish, salmon croquettes. Sides run to smoked gouda and cheddar mac, collard greens, candied yams and crispy Brussels sprouts. Weekend brunch brings peach cobbler French toast and churro chicken and waffles. Happy hour runs four until seven. Reservations are worth the trouble.
