DAIRY JOY – Restaurant
A walk-up window on South Manhattan Avenue, a drive-thru lane next door, and a lot arranged around vintage Chevys: Dairy Joy has been scooping in South Tampa since 1958, and has been run by Chris and Karrie Mueller since 2018. Soft serve arrives plain, dipped in chocolate, butterscotch, cherry or blue raspberry, or built into boat sundaes such as the banana split and the hot fudge brownie. Hard scoops range from butter pecan to Superman and Purple Haze, plus non-dairy vanilla and chocolate. Milkshakes, snow cones, Dole Whip, root beer floats and hot dogs fill out the board. Doo-wop plays.
