GEORGE'S CAFE – Restaurant
A gourmet café at the north end of Park Avenue in Winter Park, George's does the lunch counter properly: sandwiches with names rather than numbers — the Pearl, the Abigail Reuben, a house chicken salad — served alongside homemade applesauce or house-made chips. Salads and soups fill out the board. The cookie case earns its own detour, running from double chocolate walnut to white chocolate macadamia and chocolate raspberry. Coffee, specialty teas, wine, beer and mimosas mean it works well past noon, and the same kitchen caters. Small, sharp, built for a Park Avenue afternoon.
