LA FIESTA MEXICAN GRILL – Restaurant

A cheery little storefront on Curry Ford Road: yellow walls, tiled booths, rock en espanol on the speakers, a dozen-odd tables and a short bar. The cooking is homestyle and unhurried. Shrimp empanadas are fried to a proper crackle, bistec Tampiquena comes butterflied and pan-seared, and there are camarones al mojo de ajo, carnitas with crisp edges, and lunchtime chilaquiles under cotija and a fried egg. Service takes its time because the food does. Family-run and fairly priced.
