Chef Daniel learned the trade in Mexico City kitchens from the dish pit up, and the Pines Boulevard restaurant he runs with his wife cooks like it. Carne asada tacos are the thing people order and then order again. Birria, pozole, burritos and quesadillas fill out the menu, with margaritas and micheladas to match. Taco Tuesday discounts most of the list and packs the room. Service is quick, the space is unpretentious, and the flavours are the point rather than the presentation. Straight-ahead Mexican cooking with a real kitchen behind it.
