Cornbread lands before you have ordered anything - that is how Mangos Southern Kitchen and Bar on North Florida Avenue opens an evening. Southern cooking with some ambition behind it: Thai chilli wings, hot honey whole wings, smothered Creole turkey wings, fried salmon bites, and a lobster and shrimp pasta regulars order without reading the menu. The cocktails get the same attention as the plates. There is a rooftop, live music some nights, and a room small enough to feel like a find. Wednesday through Sunday, afternoon into late.
