Since 2001 this Tampa Road room has quietly filled the Bay area's gap for serious seafood, and it still runs on the same idea: get the fish right, keep the setting relaxed. The kitchen leans on Florida hogfish and Gulf grouper, sends out panko-crusted hogfish with tamari beurre blanc, grilled sea scallops over romesco, and seared shrimp and scallop linguine, with cast-iron filet and New York strip for the landlocked. There is a deep wine list and a happy hour that regulars plan around. Diners come back for the freshness and the practised, unhurried service.
