The Glades Road branch is the western Boca Raton version of a formula that has barely changed in decades, and that is precisely its appeal. The Original Pancake House bakes its Apple Pancake with fresh granny smiths under Sinkiang cinnamon, turns out the Dutch Baby with lemon and powdered sugar, and pours batter for buttermilk stacks studded with blueberries, bananas, bacon or toasted pecans. Savoury orders run to a house-made corned beef hash and a fluffy vegetarian omelette of broccoli, tomato, mushroom and aged cheddar. Juice squeezed fresh, coffee kept coming. Mornings only, which is the whole character of the place.
