On Herzl Street in Haifa's Hadar, a falafel counter that builds its balls the Jerusalem way — herb-packed, deep golden, crisp at the edge and steaming when you break one open. Beyond the pita there is grilled meat, kebab, schnitzel, salads and sandwiches, with soup when the season calls for it and fruit shakes year-round. It is one of the few badatz-mehadrin kosher addresses in the city, and diners keep returning for portions that fill the pita properly and a counter kept visibly clean. Simple food, held to a standard.
