The Or Akiva branch of Pizza Shemesh sits on Sderot David HaMelech in the Or Yam quarter, one of more than a hundred franchises the chain has spread from Kiryat Shmona to Eilat since Sharon Hasid opened the first tiny shop in 2010. The formula has not changed: full mozzarella, mehadrin certification, and prices pitched deliberately low. Beyond the trays there is a Greek pizza with Bulgarian cheese and black olives, a vegan version, a corn-flour gluten-free base, penne and fettuccine, and the malawach and ziva that mark it out as an Israeli pizzeria rather than an Italian one.
