SNACK HUNTER – Restaurant

A West Miami cafeteria that has been on NW 7th Street since 1970, and the counter still runs the way it always has - fast, loud, cash-friendly, Cuban to the bone. The pan con bistec is the reason most people are standing there, thin steak pressed into bread until the juices soak through. Around it are tequenos, empanadas, croquetas and pastelitos, and a case of jumbo eclairs filled with creme brulee that regulars treat as a separate destination. Fruit shakes come thick. Locals rave about the speed, the prices and the fact that nothing has been modernized. Grab-and-go breakfast, done the old way.
