ABC PIZZA – Restaurant

Six Fotopoulos brothers left Greece in 1950, worked the Connecticut docks, and opened the first ABC Pizza in 1966; the family brought the name to the Tampa Bay area in 1974. The Greek accent stayed. Crust is the pitch - thin, generous, never premade - under house specials like the meat lover's, the vegetarian with black olives and peppers, and a white gourmet pie of cheese and garlic butter. Greek salad arrives heaped with feta, ham and tomato. Italian dinners run to chicken parmesan, lasagna and eggplant rollatini. Relatives still work counters. Unfussy, fairly priced, built for the long haul.
