Airas Nunes ~ Café (Santiago de Compostela) – cafe

Fifty metres from the cathedral on Rúa do Vilar, this café has been part of the old town since 1993 and still trades on the same idea: somewhere to sit for an hour, not ten minutes. Chocolate is the specialty, thick and served properly, backed by a long list of teas and infusions and a case of house-made pastries, tarts and pancakes. There is a corner of armchairs given over to reading and listening. Through the year the room also hosts concerts, talks, book launches, tastings and exhibitions of painting and photography. A café that behaves like a living room.
