On Rua do Preguntoiro where it meets Praza de Cervantes, a hundred metres from the cathedral, Agarimo unlocks at seven in the morning and does not really stop. Coffee and breakfast first, then wine, tapas and raciones running unbroken through lunch, merienda and dinner, with bocadillos and a long list of toasted sandwiches. The free tapa still arrives with every drink, meatballs in tomato sauce included, very much the Galician way. Tables spill into the plaza when the weather allows. Regulars talk less about the menu than about the welcome: warm, unhurried, familiar. One of the old town's steady fixtures.
