Aqaba's As-Saadeh Street, the run locals still call pizza street, and Aurjwan holds a corner of it from mid-morning until well past midnight. It works as a cafe, a restaurant and a shisha lounge at once: coffee and hookah out on the terrace, tables inside when the heat wins, screens on for whatever match is being played. The kitchen spreads wide rather than deep, through sandwiches and grills, steak with soft mash, nachos loaded with beans, and portions land generously. Guests single out staff who are attentive without hovering. Thursdays and Fridays it runs on until three in the morning.
