Cafe Luka – diner

A First Avenue diner in Lenox Hill that has kept the format honest: booths, an enormous laminated card, and breakfast served whenever you want it. Golden brown pancakes and Belgian waffles lead the griddle, eggs come any style, and the bagel bin runs alongside a proper matzah ball soup. Then the long middle of the menu, triple-decker sandwiches, pita sandwiches, hot open sandwiches, wraps, an eight-ounce sirloin burger, a turkey burger, plus broiler plates, oven roasts and a section of lighter diet delights. Egg creams, ice cream sodas and milkshakes hold the beverage list. Delivery and catering both go out.
