The baguette comes first here, and the operator says theirs was voted New York's best in 2024. Crispy Heaven bakes European-style on Lafayette Street, then builds the day around it: manchego or serrano on baguette with fresh tomato sauce, burrata with heirloom tomatoes and basil, ham with housemade butter, mortadella and gouda, spicy tuna, grass-fed short rib with caramelized onions. Brunch runs to Turkish eggs, brioche French toast, frittata, schnitzel and steak and eggs. There is gazpacho, octopus salad, chicken curry, avocado toast and German apple crumb cake. Diners talk about the bread above all else, then about the service.
