The Machane Yehuda meat joint made the move to Tel Aviv, and it landed near Rabin Square with its grill philosophy intact: asada, South American slow-fire cooking, applied to Israeli beef. The flagship is the asada sandwich — braided challah packed with tender, slowly grilled asado, house aioli, rocket, half-pickled pepper, tomato and crisp fried onion. Beyond the sandwiches there are meat plates with sides. It is kosher, and it keeps late hours. Carnivores who knew the Jerusalem original say the transfer lost nothing. Street food with a restaurant's discipline behind it.
