This is where it started. The first McDonald's in the entire Middle East opened at Ramat Gan's Ayalon mall on 14 October 1993, and the entrance-floor branch carries that lineage. What followed grew into hundreds of sites and a menu bent hard toward local taste: beef grilled over charcoal instead of the flat-top used everywhere else, a salad chopped to order at the counter, fries and McCafe to finish. Shoppers pile in at lunch and the queue moves fast. History and a quick burger, sharing the same doorway.
