OSTERIA NATALINA – Restaurant

Walk-ins only, reservations on three nights a year, and guests aged ten and up — Osteria Natalina has run its South MacDill room in Tampa on its own terms since 2000. The cooking is unhurried and old-school: sacchettini di pere, pasta purses of pear and cheese in gorgonzola sauce; potato gnocchi stuffed with asiago; linguine alla aragosta topped with blue crab; risotto al nero di seppia with clams and calamari. Secondi run to Sicilian red snapper with eggplant, anchovies and pine nuts, and a chargrilled sliced filet with arugula and balsamic. Small, warm, and entirely uninterested in trends.
