Café Jolie – cafe

A neighbourhood bistro on Nachalat Yitzhak that has been feeding the same streets since 2003, windows open to the block, European in accent without trying too hard. Mornings run to shakshuka, muesli and the Jolie breakfast; weekends add Norwegian brioche, syrniki, croque madame, green shakshuka and Turkish bourekas until early afternoon. Evenings turn to Jolie's schnitzel, entrecote burger, chicken liver in red wine, pad kapao and green curry, with pastas from spinach-and-lemon to a slow-cooked beef hunters. Salads, bagel sandwiches and pizzas fill the gaps. Wine, beer and cocktails carry the late hours. Regulars treat it as a second kitchen.
