A chocolate bar in the most literal sense. Max Brenner's Netanya room on Gibborei Israel Street opens at nine in the morning and runs past midnight, serving breakfast at one end of the day and outright dessert theatre at the other. The savoury side stays deliberately simple — Margherita, Greek and mushroom-and-onion pizzas, grilled cheese toasts and bagels. Then the reason everyone actually came: the Max soufflé, chocolate pizza, Chocolate Nemesis, crêpes and waffles in Bueno, pistachio and Dubai-chocolate variations, and hot chocolate poured Italian, Venezuelan, Criollo or Trinidad white. Chocolate martinis, if you insist. Pace yourself. Nobody does.
