A neighbourhood cafe on Balfour Street in Petah Tikva, open from half past six for people on their way to work or to the clinic around the corner. The sandwich board is where it earns its keep: sourdough or baguette filled with tuna salad, egg salad, smoked salmon, bulgarit with pesto, or the Jerusalem — cream cheese, bulgarit, hard-boiled egg, za'atar, kalamata and hot peppers. Toasts, salads sold by weight and a kids' menu round it out. Kosher under the Petah Tikva rabbinate. Early, easy and reliably good.
